Where do I go for help during the conference?2021-07-06T18:46:02-04:00

If you have any questions about navigating the Conference platform you can email Shanta Outlaw at [email protected]. Additionally, we will have a HELP DESK located on the main Reception page when you enter the Conference site. You will find instructional videos and informational documents here and you can also request a live “meeting” with one of our Support Team Members.

Are there any networking events?2021-07-06T18:40:45-04:00

Yes! We are thrilled to keep the tradition alive and are offering a virtual networking event! Networking will be hosted on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 12:35pm – 1:35 EST in GatherTown, with private rooms and open lounge areas where attendees will be able to network and socialize.

Oh Yes! Don’t forget to take a walk outside on our virtual “beach”. You can almost smell the salty sea air and feel the sand under your feet.

Time Zone2021-07-06T18:36:07-04:00

All scheduling reflects Eastern Time (EST). In the Conference platform, the times will be adjusted to reflect your time zone. Take a look at our Preliminary Program here.  The final program will be linked to the Reception page of the Underline platform. Don’t worry if you miss a plenary or symposium session, they will be recorded and available for registered attendees to view through the next few months.

How can I ask the speakers a question?2021-07-06T18:30:27-04:00

You can use the Chat box to send the speakers questions starting Wednesday July 7, 2021. During the conference, each session type will have devoted Q&A time. For the workshops, Q&A will occur during live presentation. For plenaries, Q&A will occur in the chat and live after the final plenary presentation. For symposia and deeper dives, the scheduled sessions are specifically for Q&A. Each symposium session has been assigned a Session Chair that will ask questions posted in the Chat box and you can also submit questions during these live events as well. For posters, Q&A will occur during the scheduled Poster Discussions in GatherTown.

How do I view the presentations?2021-07-06T18:24:56-04:00

All workshops, plenaries, and poster discussions will occur live and in real time.  While the Underline platform adjusts to your individual time zone, the conference program is organized in eastern standard time (EST).  Symposia presentations have been prerecorded and will be available on-demand starting Wednesday, July 7, 2021.  These presentations are available early to give registered attendees the opportunity to view the presentations they are interested in and to submit questions to speakers via the Chat box. Live Q&A sessions will then occur on Friday, July 9, and Saturday July 10, 2021.  Posters are also available for preview before the start of the conference.  However, discussions with poster presenters will occur in a virtual, real time, face-to-face manner through GatherTown, our virtual exhibit hall.

Are there any browser requirements?2021-07-06T18:15:59-04:00

Yes! Make sure you are using a Chrome or Firefox browser and NOT Safari or Microsoft Edge. There is nothing else you need to download to access the conference platform.

How do I access the Virtual Conference?2021-07-06T18:03:33-04:00

All registered attendees for #2021UI will receive an email from our virtual platform provider, Underline.  This email will contain your “Event Ticket” and allow you to create your conference platform account if you are a new user, or log in if you are a returning user. For new users, click on the link provided in the email, create a unique account password, and instantly have access to the Conference.  Please note that “event tickets” are specific to the registered email, and therefore cannot be shared.

If by 5:00 pm on July 7, you haven’t received an invitation, but you are registered, there could be a server interference preventing this delivery.  Please create a free account on Underline by clicking this link https://underline.io/create-account.  By creating this account with the email used for registration, the Underline system will automatically recognize you as a registrant, and grant access to the platform.  Unfortunately, no access can be granted without registration.  To register for #UI13, click this link https://ww2.eventrebels.com/er/Registration/RegistrationForm.jsp?ActivityID=36368&ItemID=121644.

If you applied for a conference grant, your application was processed, and registration was completed for you.

If you have any technical issues accessing the Conference platform, please email Shanta Outlaw at [email protected].
