So what do we know about implicit attitudes? Well most of us believe that in fact we don’t have any biases, that we are egalitarian, that as scientists we make decisions based on data, and that the bias does not affect us. The fact is that that is simply not correct because stereotypes occur and operate out of our level of consciousness. And this can affect, does affect every one of us in these rooms; we have our stereotypes about various things. And when it comes to make a decision, it certainly gets to play a part in the decisions that we make.
